“Hawthorn Park” is a new luxury apartment block in Hawthorn East, Melbourne.
This is one of the two, staged apartments I fit-out at Hawthorn Park to help the developer sell the properties quickly. Staging a property to sell, means that a lot of focus needs to go on finding the perfect balance between “designed” and “safe” so that the interior appeals to the majority of people who visit.
With this in mind, the plan was to create a cosy environment for a small family. I kept the large pieces quite neutral, bringing accents of colour through the styling and decor only. Crisp white linen is always the best choice for a staged property as it brightens up a room, making it feel much larger than it truly is. The art was kept quite simple, to avoid any strong opinions which could distract from the sale.
